1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using the OwnSkool platform ("Service"), you ("School Administrator", "User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

OwnSkool provides a cloud-based school management platform including attendance tracking, fee management, homework sharing, parent communication, and related modules designed for Indian schools.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • Each school institution requires a separate account. Sharing accounts across institutions is not permitted.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of your institution.

4. Subscription and Payment

  • Starter Trial: ₹999 one-time payment for one month of access to essential modules.
  • Full OwnSkool System: ₹19,000 per year for complete access to all modules.
  • Payments are processed securely via our payment gateway partners.
  • Subscriptions renew annually unless cancelled at least 15 days before the renewal date.
  • No refunds are issued for partial-year cancellations unless required by applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable Indian law.
  • Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written permission.
  • Interfere with the platform's integrity, performance, or availability.

6. Data Ownership

All student and school data entered into the platform remains the property of your institution. OwnSkool acts solely as a data processor. We will never sell, share, or use your school's data for purposes other than operating the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The OwnSkool platform, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by OwnSkool and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without written consent.

8. Service Availability

We target 99.5% uptime. Planned maintenance will be communicated 48 hours in advance where possible. The offline sync feature ensures core functionality remains available without internet.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnSkool shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days' written notice. We may suspend or terminate accounts immediately for material breach of these terms. Upon termination, we will provide your data in an exportable format for 30 days before deletion.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
